Cheater Status FAQ

Last updated on Aug 01, 2025

What is the Cheater Status?

The Cheater Status is Gamercraft's alternative to permanent bans for players flagged by our anti-cheat system. Instead of removing players entirely as we did previously, we place them in a separate competitive environment where they can continue playing while proving their commitment to fair play.

How does someone receive the Cheater Status?

Players are moved when our anti-cheat system identifies suspicious patterns in their gameplay, such as:

  • Unusual performance improvements

  • Smurfing behavior

  • Elo manipulation

  • Other statistical anomalies that suggest unfair play

The system uses confidence thresholds - players with very high confidence scores are moved.

What's the difference between "Cheater" and "Permanently Cheater" status?

Cheater Players: Those flagged by our system who can appeal their status and potentially return to regular play.

Permanently Cheater Players: Previously banned accounts that have been reactivated with permanent restrictions. These players cannot appeal their status.

What restrictions do these players face?

Tournament Access

  • Can only participate in Jackpot Ladders designed for Cheater players

  • Will only compete against other cheater players

Financial Restrictions

  • We do not add any restrictions to winnings

  • Cheater players will not have any additional fees when withdrawing their earnings

Platform Features

  • No live chat access

  • Limited profile customization options

  • Account marked with Cheater Status

Can I appeal my status?

Cheater Players: Yes, you can appeal through our support system. There is a $15 fee for appeals, which is refunded if your appeal is successful.

Permanently Cheater Players: No, appeals are not available for permanently cheater status.

How much does an appeal cost and how does it work?

Appeals cost $15, which is immediately deducted from your wallet when you contact support. If you don't have $15 available, the appeal cannot be processed. If your appeal is successful and your status is removed, the $15 is refunded to your account.

What happens to my winnings and wallet when I'm moved to the Cheater Status?

Your winnings will be removed and you'll be left only with your total deposit amount in cash balance.

Can cheater players compete against regular players?

No. Our matchmaking system segments players into three categories:

  • New Players

  • Regular Players

  • Cheater Players

Each category only plays within their own segment.

How do I avoid the Cheater Status?

  • Play consistently with your actual skill level

  • Don't create multiple accounts

  • Don't manipulate your rating or performance artificially

  • Follow all platform rules and terms of service

  • Report suspected cheaters instead of trying to counter-cheat

What tournaments can cheater players participate in?

Cheater players have access to:

  • Jackpot Ladders

  • Flash tournaments in the future

Why did Gamercraft create the Cheater Status instead of just banning players?

We believe in rehabilitation over punishment. This allows us to:

  • Give genuinely innocent players flagged by mistake a path to return

  • Provide consequences for suspicious behavior without permanent exclusion

  • Create a structured environment for players to prove their commitment to fair play

Can I create a new account to avoid restrictions?

No. Creating additional accounts to circumvent restrictions violates our terms of service and will result in all associated accounts being permanently banned.

How long does the appeal process take?

Appeal processing times vary depending on the complexity of the case and current review queue. You'll receive updates through our support system as your case progresses.

Are there different withdrawal limits for Cheater players?

No.

Can I still receive customer support as a cheater player?

Yes, you have access to customer support for account issues, technical problems, and appeals.

What games and formats are available in cheater tournaments?

Cheater tournaments are available for the same games as regular tournaments.
