General Questions
What is the League of Legends Gamercraft Score?
The Gamercraft Score is our comprehensive performance rating system that evaluates your in-game contributions on a scale of 0-100. A score of 100 represents a perfect game where you couldn't have performed any better. The system considers multiple aspects of gameplay rather than just basic statistics to provide a fair assessment across all roles and playstyles.
How is my overall score calculated?
Your overall score is a weighted combination of several sub-scores that evaluate different aspects of your performance:
-
KDA (25 points)
-
Life Points/Combat Impact (15 points)
-
Farm/CS (15 points for non-supports, 0 for supports)
-
Vision Control (10 points for non-supports, 20 for supports)
-
Objectives (10 points for non-supports, 15 for supports)
-
Specialty metrics (25 points)
Do different roles get scored differently?
Yes! We understand that different roles contribute in different ways. Support players have adjusted weights (more emphasis on vision, less on farming) and each role has specific expectations within the specialty metrics. This ensures fairness regardless of your position.
What's the difference between absolute and relative scoring?
Rather than using fixed thresholds, our system compares your performance to others in the same match. This approach ensures fairness across different skill levels, game lengths, and metas. Your score reflects how well you performed relative to expectations and others in your specific match.
KDA Score (25 points)
How is my KDA score calculated?
Your KDA score evaluates your kills, deaths, and assists performance compared to others in your match. The system:
-
Calculates your base KDA ((Kills + Assists) / Deaths)
-
Compares it against the highest KDA in the match (excluding yourself)
-
Compares your KDA against your teammates
-
Considers how your team's overall KDA compares to the enemy team's
What happens if I have 0 deaths?
If you have 0 deaths, the system uses a special calculation to prevent division by zero while rewarding deathless performances.
What is the Kill Participation penalty?
If your kill participation (percentage of team kills you were involved in) is among the 4 lowest in the match, your KDA score will be reduced. This encourages team involvement rather than playing passively.
Life Points Score (15 points)
What does the Life Points (LP) score measure?
The LP score measures your overall combat impact by combining:
-
Damage dealt to champions
-
Healing provided to allies
-
Shields granted to allies
-
Damage taken/tanking (adjusted based on deaths)
Does self-healing count toward my LP score?
No, self-healing (like Mundo's healing or lifesteal) isn't counted to avoid inflating scores for certain champions.
How is tanking calculated?
For tanks and frontliners, damage taken is considered as positive contribution, but it's adjusted based on your deaths. If you die more than your team's average, your tanking contribution is reduced to discourage reckless play.
What if I play a champion that excels at multiple LP components?
The system identifies which LP component (damage, healing, shielding, or tanking) you performed best in relative to others in the match. If you perform well in two categories, you receive a small bonus.
Farm Score (15 points, 0 for supports)
How is my farming score calculated?
Your farm score measures your CS (Creep Score) relative to others in your match:
-
The system compares your CS to the highest CS in the game (excluding yourself)
-
It also compares your CS to your teammates' and how your team's total farm compares to the enemy team
-
Different roles have different farming expectations
Do supports need to worry about the farm score?
No, the farm score weight is set to 0 for supports, recognizing that supports typically focus on other aspects of the game rather than farming.
Is there a specific CS/min threshold I need to reach?
Rather than fixed thresholds, the system compares you to others in your specific match. This means a "good" CS score can vary between games depending on the overall pace and style of the match.
Vision Score (10 points, 20 for supports)
How is my vision score calculated?
Your vision score measures your contribution to team vision by:
-
Comparing your vision score to the highest in the match (excluding yourself)
-
Evaluating how you compare to teammates and how your team's vision compares to enemies
-
Considering role-specific expectations (supports have higher vision standards)
How important are control wards?
VERY important! Destroying enemy wards and using "Pink Wards" is very important!
Which roles are expected to have higher vision scores?
Supports are expected to have the highest vision contribution, which is why their vision score weight is doubled (20 points vs 10 points). However, all roles need to contribute to vision control for optimal team performance.
Objectives Score (10 points, 15 for supports)
What counts as an objective contribution?
The objectives score tracks your participation in taking:
-
Towers
-
Inhibitors
-
Dragons
-
Rift Herald
-
Baron Nashor
Both direct damage and assists are counted.
How does my role affect my objectives score?
Different roles have different expectations:
-
Junglers are expected to focus on dragon/herald control
-
ADCs should prioritize tower damage
-
Supports get credit for assisting even with lower direct damage
-
Mid/Top laners are evaluated based on their objective participation relative to role expectations
Does my team's overall objective control affect my score?
Yes. If your team secured fewer objectives than the enemy team, this is factored in. You can still get a good score if you contributed significantly to the objectives your team did secure, even in a losing game.
Specialty Score (25 points)
What are the specialty metrics?
The specialty score evaluates five different aspects of gameplay:
-
CC Score - Your effectiveness at controlling enemies (stuns, slows, etc.)
-
Duel Score - Your performance in 1v1 situations
-
Gank Score - How effective your ganks/roams were during the early game
-
Team Fight Score - Your contribution in team engagements
-
Early Domination Score - Your gold/XP advantage over opponents during the early game
How does my role affect specialty scoring?
Each role has different weights for these components:
-
Tanks emphasize CC and team fighting
-
Assassins focus on dueling and ganking
-
Supports prioritize CC and early game impact
-
ADCs emphasize team fighting and early lane dominance
How can I maximize my specialty score?
The system takes your best specialty score and adds a bonus if your second-best score is close to it. This rewards both specialization in your main strength AND versatility in having multiple strong areas.
Common Questions
Why did I get a lower score in a game I won?
Winning contributes to your score indirectly by enabling better performance in various metrics, but victory alone doesn't guarantee a high score. If you won but had limited impact across the measured categories, your score will reflect that.
How can I improve my score as a support?
As a support, focus on:
-
Maintaining high vision control (always buy control wards!)
-
Participating in kills/assists across the map
-
Contributing to objective takes
-
Effective CC usage
-
Providing high healing/shielding for allies
-
Staying alive while doing all of the above
Does champion choice affect my score?
The system is designed to be champion-agnostic within roles. Whether you play an aggressive damage dealer or a utility-focused champion, you're evaluated on how effectively you fulfill your role's expectations.
Why did my opponent get a higher score than me when I won lane?
Lane dominance is just one factor in your overall score. Your opponent might have contributed more effectively to other aspects like team fighting, objective control, or vision. Remember, the Gamercraft Score measures overall game impact, not just laning performance.
How accurate is this scoring system?
